Chocolate, Wine and Facebook
Do you ever feel discombobulated?
Then reach for something to make it go away?
Maybe its a Snickers bar, a credit card, or a bottle of wine we reach for. Nowdays, even the computer! Whether its Facebook, email, video games, or blogging, the computer can take us out of reality and put our lives into the virtual world.
I have used all these things to relax/get away.
What if we are reaching for Facebook more often than for a REAL book? What if we begin to reach for a bottle of wine every time something makes us feel upset?
So why not reach for something a little different this year? Instead of Facebook, read a real book. Instead of wine, reach for the phone and call a good friend. Instead of a computer game, reach for a board game...one which allows you to interact and look your partner or friend in the eye. Instead of that Snickers bar, lace up those walking shoes!!!
Its a new year, which means a new beginning! God offers us chances to begin again all the time!
And if you have honestly thought that you would like to get back to going to church, why not give that a try? Being a part of a community of caring people is good for your soul! Come join Grace Adventure at Theology on Tap where you'll have REAL, honest, uplifting conversation. Join us for our Sunday morning exercise group at the Rail Trail (we had EVERY level this morning), or a movie night, or music soul group. Join us for a service where you'll get to hear great music and an inspiring message.
This year, do something GOOD for your soul! God is always calling us into relationship with God, so why not try something new?
We will see you on the trail!
Shalom,
Pastor Annette
