Two Brothers + One Vision = Greatness!

Through collaboration, great things are accomplished!

There is a moving story about teamwork in the Bible, in the book of Exodus.  Moses is called out by God to go and liberate the people of Egypt who were enslaved by the leader, Pharoah.  Moses was a leader, but was human and had his own insecurities and shortcomings about accomplishing such a great task.   So he questions God and asks, "...Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor even now...I am slow of speech and slow of of tongue...please send someone else"  Basically, Moses hated the idea of public speaking, as many of us do and he wanted God to give the job to someone else.

God's reply to Moses' request?  "What of your brother Aaron the Levite?  I know that he can speak fluently...He indeed shall speak for you to the people...Take in your hand this staff, with which you shall perform the signs."  And with the handing over of the staff, Moses was hired for the job, along with Aaron.

Instead of focusing on what Moses could not do, God focused on finding a solution.  They didn't sit around and hum and haw over the shortcomings of Moses, nor did they remove Moses from the job.  Instead, God offered a brilliant solution:  a little brotherly teamwork!

Together, these two brothers liberated the Egyptians.  A great and noble task was accomplished through collaboration.  Not one individual, but two working together, using their unique gifts, with God as their source of strength.

Whether or not you believe the story of plagues as an actual historical event, there is Truth hidden in it.  The Truth is that when we work together, we accomplish so much more.  When one person is willing to not worry about getting all the credit and willing to utilize all of God's given gifts we bring to the table, greatness can happen!  When people pitch in and support a good cause, a wave of energy and goodness is created, pushing the cause forward into fruition, creating a tidal wave of action!

"Never underestimate the power of a small, dedicated group of people to change the world.  Indeed , that is the only thing that ever has." ~Margaret Mead

So go!  Be dedicated to a cause!  Collaborate with your team!  And change the world!

Shalom!
