Rocks And Shiny Things



Every time I hear Taylor Swift's song, "Ours," the words "People throw rocks at things that shine" echo in my head for the rest of the day!  That one little phrase brings me into touch with what I throw rocks at or what I see others throwing rocks at...all out of jealousy or insecurity.  We humans,  say a lot of things to make ourselves feel better...and its often at the expense of another.  We throw stones because it makes us feel better about our own insecurities. 

I hope we all think twice before teasing someone behind their back.  Find another way to make yourself feel good. 
I hope we all think twice before saying something hurtful to someone, anyone.  Practice the Golden Rule. 
I pray you never hit someone out of your own issues.  Get help instead. 
I pray you never verbally abuse someone out of your own problems. 

Let people be themselves.  Love on people who annoy you.  And be careful about what or WHO you throw stones at because we need more things that shine in this world.  There is already enough darkness.  So don't throw a stone at it.  Help it to shine brighter!
