SAY IT!!!!!
Several months ago someone I admire and respect said to me point blank: "Annette, people who are mature, talk through things. People who are immature, don't." Those words have stuck with me. It was so bottom line. And what a way to measure our maturity as adults!! To ask ones self: "Do I pout, ignore, push aside, repress or do I deal with things in a way that will move me and the other person forward?" Its a big question! But its an important question to ask ones self regarding the relationships we have with God, siblings, significant others, friends, parents, co-workers, even strangers! We live in a BUSY world, but MAKING the time to have what my boss calls a "Crucial Conversation" is the tie that binds our relationships. So take the time...TODAY...to talk with someone about how you are feeling, to apologize, or to really deal with something that has stirred between you. It will make you wiser, more mature, AND will help you and your relationship grow. And every time you do it, you'll get better at it. Use loving words and be prayerful as you speak. Don't sweep it under the rug. Deal with it. And God's grace will be supporting you, comforting you, and guiding your conversation! Remember, God loves you! ~Annette | draft |
